The Problem: Learning & development has a pivotal place in the ICICI Bank’s strategy. The bank believes in nurturing its own talent and for this purpose, it has developed robust capability building platforms which provide knowledge and skills which not only enable its employees to perform in their current jobs but also prepare them to take up higher roles and responsibilities in future. The philosophy of the bank has been to provide theory, concepts, regulatory guidelines and product related content that can be learnt through self-study.

The Solution: The bank developed an e-learning solution called ‘Learning Matrix’. This aims to equip ICICI Group employees with requisite knowledge to perform in their roles. It consists of more than 220 e-learning modules offering well over 800 hours of learning content, covering a range of topics from products and processes to compliance and regulatory norms. The bank’s online training is not limited to security, compliance and process related areas but covers the entire gamut of banking knowledge including behavioral and skill related aspects.
The Result: The application proved useful in measuring the current status, analyzing gaps, and tracking progress of knowledge in the bank. In FY 2011-12, the bank covered 3,16,584 man days in e-learning cross the organization.
