I came across the recently launched GX500(Dual Slim) from LG and the Specs seems to be good. Check-it-out. But a retailer quotes @ INR.9650/-.

Q: How can one generate the newly approved Rs/INR symbol launched by GoI.

Well, if you can afford to stretch to Rs 7,900, there is the Micromax W900.

This is a quad band Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone with customized UI, touchscreen, large battery(1500mAh Li-ion), Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth, 157MB internal + microSD slot and 2MP camera.

Apart from all this, the main reason why it's such good value is that it comes with all-India maps with voice-guided directions from MapmyIndia.

Check this link - http://ld2.in/hn

Cheers,

@NSK8700 - just noticed the query in your post about the INR symbol.

You can get the Rupee Foradian font from here - http://ld2.in/h4

copy the font into your Windows fonts folder and simply use the grave accent key (the one above the tab key in most keyboards).

And in case you're wondering about the URL shortener I'm using, it's from the Living Digital website; http://www.LD2.in.
It's free for anyone to use.

Cheers,
